Love at first sight!

This past weekend we went to Arlington to help Christopher's brother, Kallen, move into his house. After that we met Chad and Cassy at The Branch for church then stayed the night with them. Chad and Cassy were married a week after me and Chris. Cassy and I were due a week apart, me Sept. 3 and her Sept. 10, and we ended up having the babies a week apart, her Sept. 1 and me Sept. 8. So we've been waiting for Addison and Cohen to meet! I'll admit, we've been talking him up a little to Addison. I wish that I had a picture of when they first met, it was too cute! They just smiled, stared and talked to each other! They even leaned in for their first kiss but Cassy and I thought that it was a little too early for that! Of course we took a lot of pictures. I think that Cassy got some better shots than I did, but here they are.

Chris and Chad wondered how many pictures were going to be taken when we started out when we left the church. But, how cute are they one with a pink blanket and one with a blue blanket!

Sort of a funny picture, Cohen has a triple chin and Addison has AlfAlfa hair! I thinks it's pretty cute!!

We new that they would probably be competitive but we didn't think it would start this early. Addison does not look happy that he is a little ahead of her...

Chad and I put them down on the floor to see if they were the same height and they decided to practice for their first dance! Seriously, we didn't place their arms like that, they did it themselves.

FUNNY STORY...

So Addison occasionally likes to blow it out the back of her diaper. When this happens we double duty it to keep all the poo from getting in her hair... while I was unsnapping her I could tell that Chris was moving her around, he started laughing and this is what I found...

Yes, she's hanging on a hanger. What can I say, she's born to be a gymnast!

I like this picture, she looks so proud that she can hold herself up.

Photo Shoot!!

Addison and I decided to have a little photo shoot while Christopher was at work this morning! The first two are my favorites, the others I thought were cute!

And we had to call it a day... can you tell she got hungry?

So here's what's been going on with us... In pictures of course!

This is how we find Addison now when she wakes up from a nap. She loves pushing up on her elbows/hands and looking around to see where she is. This is soon followed by her rolling to her back. She's getting very close to rolling back over to her stomach, it's funny to watch her try to use all her little muscles that she knows to try to get back over.

For the past 3 Christmas's I've wanted Christopher to put lights on the house. His excuse has always been he needed a ladder and we would have to go and buy lights. So, last year after Christmas I bought a lot of lights on sale and he got a ladder from my mom for his birthday! Therefore, here he is, doing something that he really dislikes. I also think that he feels as though he has to put up lights now that he's a dad!

Sunday at church was baby dedication (pictures to come). When we got home I thought that Addison looked so cute we would try to have a mini photo shoot. It didn't go as well as I had hoped, but I thought that this one turned out pretty cute!

Since she is holding herself up so well I thought that I would try putting her in front of the mirror again. I've done this before but it didn't hold her attention that well. Now, anytime I do it she just stares at herself. She thinks that she is pretty cute!!

Chutch likes to find the gofers in our yard. When he finally gets one he like to make sure that we notice what he has done and always leaves the gofer where we can find it. Last week I went out to feed him and he was sitting next to his bowl so proud of what he accomplished.

Addison has a nice little cottage cheese bum! I tried to get a good picture of it before bath time...

She got to tired standing and decided it would be better to sit on the cabinet.

Addison has also discovered how much fun her exersaucer is! She loves talking to her sun!

Last Friday we went over and played with Kanyon. Most of the time when we see him they are not awake at the same time. Friday we managed to capture the 10 minutes that they were both awake and not eating! Jaymie and I had a hard time getting both of them to smile but I finally got a picture! Aren't they cute! They're great friends, can't you tell!!

On another note, please be praying for my "friend" (who doesn't want people to know who she is), next Monday she is going in to have a biopsy of her cervix to check for cervical cancer. She's very nervous. I'm not sure what all to ask prayers for... most of all please just pray that God uses this opportunity to show himself to her and for her to see what an amazing and comforting God he is. Pray that she will finally see Him and realize that she was made to be with Him and He wants nothing more than a relationship with her.

Really, attachment issues?

So I have a confession to make... Apparently I have attachment issues. I guess I first became aware of it when Christopher got rid of the white explorer in college. I was very sad and I felt like I didn't get to say good-bye. Then there was leaving our first rent house in Marshall. I still get a little sad when I have to drive past it while I'm in Marshall. Those of you who have been reading my blog a while you know that I almost cried when I was getting rid of the Saturn for the Envoy. Even though it was a MAJOR upgrade, I was really really sad.

One day when my mom was here keeping Addison we were talking and she mentioned how I have a hard time letting things go and reminded of the above instances. She said that those probably stem from all the moves when we were growing up. I mean 6 different schools from K - 12th grade, who would think it?? So at the time I thought, "well, maybe, but I don't think that it's that bad."

... and I had a moment yesterday when I realized that all this HAS to be true. What happened? I had a questionable mole removed from my back. I had been wanting to go for some time but Addison was on her way and I wasn't able to lay on my stomach. So yesterday was the appointment. Dr. Baldwin looked at my back and said "well, it doesn't look too bad, but it wouldn't hurt to get it sent off anyway." So we did. While I was laying there on my stomach on the table I was thinking about my mole and that I was going to be a little sad that it was no longer there. I kind of liked it, I thought that it added a little something to the small of my back. Then I realized that yes, if I'm sad about a mole being cut off then I must have attachment issues.

Apparently these are evident to Christopher also because when I called him to tell him that Dr. Baldwin cut it off his first words were "Are you sad?"

So I will freely admit, one less mole and two staples later... I, Mindi Collier have attachment issues.

What's the next step in a recovery program??

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Be patient, new blog look coming soon. Addison will only allow me to work on it for a few minutes at a time, so it may take a little while to get it all working correctly!

I forgot...

I forgot to give the 2 month stats from the Dr.

Weight -- 11 lbs .2 ounces

Height -- 22.5 inches long

Head -- 15 inches around

She was in the 50% percentile on everything, so we called her perfectly average!

Too much for a title

DISCLAIMER: Blogger is slightly upsetting me because I can't fix the format of this post to look normal. So bear with it.. hopefully next time it won't be all over the place!!

I really do have good intentions to update the blog more often. I just don't seem to get around to it. Thanks for hanging in there those of you that continue to check back.

Just a few things have been going on. Like always, I'll tell it in pictures.

Like I said in the last post, Addison thinks it's so funny when Chris puts his hat on her. Here are two of the cutest pictures that I think we have of her.

Friday we went for her 2 month shots! IT was also the employee Thanksgiving lunch at the hospital so I thought it would be a good idea to take her up there so that everyone could see her and then stop asking me if I brought pictures... Once Grandad got up there he had her for a while... you can't see it well in this picture but I really think that Addison looks just like him, maybe that will change once she has hair!!

This was just after the shots. A lot of people say that they cried when their babies got shots for the first time. Maybe it makes me and Christopher bad parents but we laughed. Shots don't bother us from all those summers at Camp Sweeney.

Here is another after the shots picture. This may have been the first time that I have seen her cry with tears...

Sunday we went to the Cowboy game with Kallen and Kelsey. Addison stayed with my sister while we were there. She apprently cried the whole time, sorry Mel. She just didn't feel very good after her shots!

The game was fun though, I think what was more entertaining was the guys in front of us...

These guys loved to give high 5's after anything good happened. At first it was funny, then somewhat annoying...

Halloween and 2 months old!!

Here is Addison's Halloween Outfit that her Aunt Mary got her. Isn't she cute!!

Her actual costume was a lady bug. It was too hot to wear it for very long so she put it on for a few pictures. This is her friend Mallory, she was a bee so I thought it would be good to get the bugs together!

This is how car rides usually start out when she has a bow in.
This is how they end up! In the middle of car rides she likes to go ghetto!

Here are the dads with their babies at Trunk or Treat at church! Christopher and Addison, Kory and Kanyon, Mark and Blake

Now that Addison is 2 months old... She does some new things...

She likes to wear her daddy's hat.

She learns accounting from her dad. Doesn't she look so interested!!
She holds her own bottle. (okay, it only lasts for a few seconds but I feel like she's really old for those seconds)

She does sit ups. She does sit ups everynight with her dad. We attribute her incredable neck strength and the fact that she rolled over to these.

This isn't really anything to do with her 2 months old things, I just thought that it was funny. I was getting her foot prints in her book and she stamped me instead of the paper.

I have not been able to get a good picture of her smiling yet. She smiles a lot, but in every picture she just looks crazy... We'll try again later

Well, tomorrow is the day that I have to go back to work... YUCKY! I'm not too excited about it. Here are some things from this past week.

Addison is watching the Red Sox game. She doesn't remember that she's been to a game, but I think that we got her to be a fan early!
Doesn't she look like she's sitting in a little pink recliner?
This was an attempt last Wednesday at breast milk, obviously it's still not going just wonderful but I think that we are getting better! Notice how her and Chris's shirts are both super dark! YUMMY! Got to love that baby barf!

I enjoyed playing with Jill and Amy (Grayson, Mallory and Blake) these last few weeks. I'm going to miss that! Judging from this picture I think that Jill will be able to handle Grayson and the twins all at the same time!

I put Addison down for her to sleep the other day,

this was where I put her down...

This was where she was when she woke up..
And lastly, today was the first day that we went out in the 50 degree weather... so she needed her little grey hoody!

Lots of Firsts!

This past week has been full of firsts for Addison!

She tried to imitate a turtle (or having tummy time, which ever)

She peed on her daddy

She met her Uncle Kallen and Aunt Kelsey!

We took her "1 month and big blue" picture (yes, I guess this means that we have to keep Big Blue for at least another year!)

Captured the extra long hair on her forehead
(I know the picture isn't that great, but I had a hard time getting it to show up in pictures, so look closely on the right side of her forehead you can see it. I've thought about plucking it, but part of me wants to see how long it can get!)

She met her Uncle Mark

She took her first "sink" bath

Most Impressive... she met her 102 year old Great-Great Granddad

Here is a 5 generation picture Addison with her dad, Granddad, Mimi (Great grandmother) and Great-Great Granddad.

And she saw her first horse!

A few more that I didn't have pictures of...

She made it the 3 hours and 15 minute car ride to Bryan without needing to eat! (both ways!!)

And one night (only 1 so far) she slept for 6 hours!! I was amazed, too bad our luck didn't last other nights!
