Last weekend

This past weekend, Oct. 18, Addison stayed a few nights with Chris's parents. There were lots of pictures, but this one makes me laugh when I look at it... she loves to play in the dishwasher!! (and don't you LOVE the pj's, I was so excited when I found her these halloween pajamas.)

Last Saturday night was ACA's fall fest. A few of the kids were football players and cheerleaders so we tried to take a picture... this was the best one I got. From left to right: Grayson, Blake, Cole and Addison. Mallory was an A&M cheerleader but she didn't want to take a picture.
There weren't just a ton of games for Addison's age, but she had a few favorites....

Right after she got this duck out, she reach in for another so far that she almost fell in. I was laughing so hard.
This was her favorite... she dug and dug in the paper, and pulled out all the coins she could find, there was candy and other things in there but all she cared about was the coins.

I just thought this was cute. She did figure out that the pumpkin was for all her goodies, and she loved to walk around with it.

This was another one of her favorites, obviously it wasn't really a game but Amanda just let her pick out what she wanted since Addison wasn't really big enough for the pizza toss!
Addison was ready to go and while I was still inside talking Christopher taught her to run up the stairs...

Last Sunday night we went to a corn maize between Longview and Tyler a group from church. This picture cracked me up, Blake and Addison saw a cat... Can you tell how much Addison loves cats. I'm trying to break her of that...

The rest of these are some of my favorite pictures from the night.

Addison was sad that she didn't get to go on the hayride. There wasn't enough room and she wasn't really in the mood to be still, so we took pictures in the corn instead!

A GREAT nights sleep?!?!?!?

First... our internet has been down. Before any other updates I would like to share with you our morning:

4:30 am – awakened by the meanest bark and growl I have ever heard from Chutch. Usually a tap on the window and he stops. So Christopher taps on the window

4:32 am – barking resumes, another tap on the window.

4:34 am – we hear scurrying outside of our bedroom followed by more barking, growling and a little hissing.

4:37 am – Chris goes outside to tell Chutch to be quiet and to see if he can see any little animals running around.

4:40 am – awhh… 3 minutes of quietness…. Then comes the loudest train EVER (we live about a mile from train track) with the loudest horn EVER.

4:42 – 4:51 – repeat the previous sequence of events

4:52 am – another Train, AWESOME… this time Chris and I just laugh

4:55 am – quiet for the last few minutes… CAUGH, CAUGH Addison is now coughing up some of the awesome drainage from getting new teeth. I go in to check on her and cover her back up.

4:58 am – Chutch is now whining… I assume he has killed whatever it was he was chasing and is now sad that he has nothing to play with…

5:05 am – awesome, must have dozed off for a few minutes. Then I hear running, animals against the house followed by very intense barking. Christopher says, “hey, isn’t it almost time for you to get up?” my alarms goes off at 5:20…

5:07 am – a few more knocks on the window then I cover my face with the pillow…

5:20 am – ALARM… SNOOZE

5:30 am – ALARM, lay in bed a listen to barking waiting on Chris’s alarm to go off.

5:40 am – ALARM… I get up.

6:10 am – Chris gets up, goes to see what the deal is with Chutch (he didn’t stop barking this whole time, I think we just tuned it out) finds, nothing, just Chutch barking at nothing, he says "it's like Chutch has a little dog trapped in the fence with the pool pump"

6:40 am – I’m ready, Chris just left for work and ABC is still asleep so I get back in bed and decide to sleep until she wakes up… barking… AMBULANCE… now howling…

7:20 am – ABC wakes up.

7:25 am – notice that the gate to the pool pump is sort of opened so I go out to check on it and it prove to Chutch once and for all that there is nothing out there, whatever he was chasing is now GONE. I say “Chutch there is nothing here, you need to stop…” I see something furry move behind all the pool pipes, I think “It’s weird that a squirrel would stay back here and not try to run.” Oh no… not a squirrel… RACCOON!!! How did a raccoon get into our back yard?

I then run inside and grab the camera, of course, he looks so scared. His little eyes just said “HELP ME!”

7:35 am – Kim, Chris’ mom, arrives and tried to go and prod it out of the pool pump area.. no go, he’s not moving…

9:10 am – animal control arrives. Raccoon is out of the fence, only to escape the pole rope thing and jump into the pool… Animal control guy gets him and puts it in a cage. He assures me that the raccoon will not be killed, he will just be released somewhere else. (Christopher said that he’s sure they were actually going to kill the raccoon.)

10:00 – arrive at work…

It’s been a long day… I’m sure I will be asleep tonight as soon as ABC is!!

Long time no blog...

well, for those of you that are still out there waiting for an update... here you go...

Hurricane Ike: Our neighbor had a tree fall on his house before the big winds even came in. Christopher wasn't going to go over and help until I was watching and our other neighbor, older man, was helping and he slipped on the roof HOLDING HIS CHAINSAW. I told Chris and he jumped up and went to change, he got out of folding towels since he went to help! Funny thing about this, more of a "Okay, thanks God, I get it" moment... the day before I had a super long blog ready to post about this particular neighbor and what I think his occupation is and my thoughts on him, but I decided not to post it. So I'm part of the reason I pushed Christopher to go help was because of my guilty conscience...

We lost electricity for only 24 hours, we stayed the night in Elysian Fields with Christopher's parents. Before we left Christopher decided to play with Addison and her shopping cart. He thought it would be a good idea to put her in it and push her around. Made me nervous, but she loved it and now she tries to climb in it by herself!

The Porter's lost electricity for about 4 or 5 days so 2 nights they stayed with us!! Before bath time one night they jumped on the trampoline... has to be before bath time since it turns everything black. I wanted to get a shot of all of their feet, this was as close as I could get!! We had to do some rearranging, Blake is the only one that had his own room... Addison bunked with us. Blake had Addison's room, Amy and Mallory slept in the guest room and Mark had the couch we were a full house, but it was a fun slumber party time!!
Blake says "Party in Addison's bed!"

I think he changed his mind!

FUNNY FACES FROM THE PAST FEW WEEKS...
"These ravioli's are GREAT!"

I can fly!!
She loves to play with her tongue!

Not real sure what this is...
So I went to College Station for my first Aggie football game. Addison stayed with my mom and later that night my dad cooked steaks. Addison was sitting in my mom's lap while she was eating and decided to just pick up the steak and eat it... she had to have another bath!!

Last weekend we went to Mansfield for Christopher to help his brother put in hard wood floors. Addison, however, went to her first football game! We met my sister at the Everman football game that was only 15 minutes away! Addison has seen football on TV a lot, but never in real life... she wasn't too impressed, her favorite part was the giant dog (the Everman Bulldog mascot). Here she is with Camden watching the last few seconds of the game!

Watching the Cowboy game riding her horse... Like her new Cowboy bow??

I mentioned to Donna, a lady that I work with, that I wanted to try and make fuzzy bows, she said she had a boa that I could have. Well Donna, I haven't made bows yet, but Addison sure likes to play in it!!!

Saturday we went to Western Days in Hallsville! Addison liked watching the band and really anything that went by. It was bright out, can you see her sunglasses... she left them on until I took them off. It cracks me up, she'll leave them on when it's bright out, but the second you get in the car or inside the throws them off!! I guess she's so smart she knows what they are for!!

Here's the other reason we went to Western Days... I've officially sold my first bows!!! A lady that we go to Church with has a website and... longer story than I would like to type... but we found each other and I put some bows in her booth at Western Days and soon to be on her website! I sold about 20 at Western Days! It was a last minute thing, so these were all the ones I made in 2 days...
This one was one of my favorites...
This one went over well in East Texas! I got there at 9:45 and 2 of them were already gone (it started at 9:00)
That's all for now! I'm tired, even though I slept for 12 hours last night... yeah, that's right, I fell asleep while Christopher was putting Addison in bed.

Maybe somethings should be left unsaid...

I would like to quickly share a conversation that I overhead / saw in Wal-Mart today. You know you hear all kinds of things you wish you hadn't in Wal-Mart...

So I'm walking into the brassiere section in Wal-Mart. There is a couple... older... a little white trash looking (I hate to say it but it is true). They are having an argument about her wanting to buy a new bra. I didn't want to go to their isle since they were pacing up and down the isle plus there was another women there (I felt sorry for her, had to be so awkward), so I decided to wait on another isle until they left. This is what I heard:

Wife: It pokes me okay.

Husband: Well, what's wrong with the one we bought you 3 months ago.

Wife: It ripped remember, you pulled on it and it ripped. (saying this as she is lifting up her shirt to show him that it ripped.)

Husband: It ripped because I was trying to pull it off...

At that point I decided to finish my shopping elsewhere and come back. I went back 20 minutes later and they were still arguing about her purchasing a bra. I'm not sure if she ever got one...

SCHOOL!! and a few other things...

I put something on the blog last Friday about Addison going to school. I wanted to wait until I knew how she was doing at school before I wrote about it on the blog! She's going to Alpine Christian Academy, school at our church, on Monday's and Wednesday's. Last Friday they let me go ahead and let that be her first day since on Monday's she does the before and after school program and I didn't really want her first day to be 7-5, her school is 8:30 - 2:30. I'm glad they let her... Friday was not such a good day. It was both of the teachers first time in a class that age (first 12 -18 month class they've had at ACA) so they had a long day. Addison, or any of the kids, wouldn't take a nap and she cried from about 1:30 - 2:00. When I picked her us on Friday one of her teachers said "She's a very strong willed little girl," that told me how the day went... So, needless to say, I was a little nervous on Monday. But she did great! They said she was an angel on Monday and today! She getting the hang of it and has taken naps both days!! (I was really worried about the naps, she gets a little violent when she's tired)

Here are pictures of her first few days of school.

First day of school.

Second day of school... AKA, her birthday. I felt a little bad sending her to school on her birthday!!

Third day of school, TODAY! I had to take a picture because I love this outfit and I wasn't sure how much longer she'll be able to wear it since it's getting cooler!

Can you tell she was a little tired before we went to school today. So tired she couldn't even hold her blanket with her arms so she propped it underneath her chin.

Cheering on the Cowboys on Sunday. My Grandma sent me money to buy Addison something for her birthday. Christopher and I wanted to get her this so we pitched in the extra so Grandma and us got her this for her birthday!! Of course we had to give it to her a little early so she could wear it for the first game!!

Just happy the Cowboys are winning!

Mommy and Addison in our Cowboy stuff for the first game!!

Ready to go to the game in her birthday present from Christopher's Mimi (I want Addison to call her G-Mi)

And with birthday comes the forward facing car seat!! As I was adjusting the straps Addison came over and was ready to sit in it, so she climbed in and hung out so I decided to make sure I had the straps right. (love her curls in this picture!)
This car seat was my shower present from my ACU friends! I love it! Addison says thanks Ladies, she loves it, and it's so comfy!!

Last night she got away from me after the bath and before the diaper. Usually this is a big NO NO and she gets in trouble... I thought, it will be okay this one time, I'll see what she does... so she ran to the futon bed and climbed on...
Maybe that wasn't such a good idea... Oh well...

Birthday!!

Today was Addison's birthday party. It's hard to believe she'll be 1 year old in 2 days...

We had a lot of fun. The house felt very full inside and out but it was great! I wouldn't have wanted it any other way! Lots of family and friends that might as well be family! I'll give a shout out to Mark for coming early to help Christopher grill, what wonderful friends we have!

We had a flower party... not really a lot of flowers there, but it was how we decorated the cake and cup cakes. I was pretty excited about the cake and cupcakes. I have to give credit to Melissa, a few weeks ago when she was here she searched the Internet for cute cakes and after looking for a few hours we combined several different ideas into these! I thought that they turned out good!! The best part.. the flowers and dots are starbursts, yum!!
Addison and Blake decided to go for a ride in Blake's car... does that mean it was a date?

Maggie and Grayson thought that Blake needed to help getting around

You would think that one of the kids would have been the first to spill something. Oddly enough it was Drew... and I don't really think that any of the kids ever split anything.

My mom brought these bubbles that take forever to pop. They were everywhere, this was about 1:30 and there were still a few bubbles on the wall at 3:00.

Grayson stopped to pose for a picture with Addison.

Blake and Mallory enjoying what Nonna and Grandad (Chris's parents) got Addison for her birthday!
Kanyon decided to cheese it up for the camera!

Addison wanted to try some of Jaymie's Sunkist... It's her birthday party... why not!!!

There were football games on... this was where you could usually find boys... and Mary Beth.

Addison and her cake. She was very careful and was taking a while to eat it.

Kanyon got a little bored and decided to eat Kory's shorts!

She paused and decided to soak up being the center of attention!

I mean, what else would you do when you have this many people watching you eat...

Yay... then she decided to dig in. I'm really not even sure how much of the cake she ate. She LOVED the icing the best.

Afterward, Poppy decided to clean her off in the pool. Chutch enjoyed the cake and icing right off of Addison.

PRESENTS!
At first she was really into opening and seeing what everything was...

Kanyon decided to get her a basketball so she wouldn't take his anymore! And he thought it was time for her to star learning how to ball!

Gotta love the shoes from Aunt Melissa, she got Addison her first pair of Nike's before she was born, now she was ready for a new pair!

Grayson and Mallory thought that the vacuum Addison got was pretty cool!

Addison got a little bored opening presents so I asked the other kids if they wanted to come and help, obviously they jumped right in!!

Addison and Maggie enjoyed Melissa teaching them how to use the giant gumball like machine from my mom, Addison played with it a lot today!

Partying is hard work! Poppy and Addison were ready for a nap very soon after everyone left!
